Due to increased security needs, the U.S. Marshals Service opened a second office in the Thomas Eagleton Federal Courthouse. Facilities include offices for an Assistant Chief Deputy, two Supervisory Deputies and workstations for 21 officers. Other facilities include secure storage room and secure weapons and tactical equipment storage.

The project included making the shell space perimeter secure and ballistics resistant, which required extending partitions to slab and deck, incorporating Kevlar and steel mesh into the perimeter partitions and installing ballistic glass in entries. Other design requirements included meeting USMS Publication 64 and ABAAS requirements.

Design services included working with USMS design office in Washington, D.C. and with GSA’s FAS division for systems furniture acquisition and data/telecom requirements.

The project was competitively bid within budget and construction was completed in March of 2012.
